Undertaking research and development, go as the R&D abbreviation suggests, hand in hand. However, it is the R can earn you the doctorate, but not the D.
One sure can undertake some development as part of the research, but this is no requirement. Unfortunately, students are often getting caught by the D, as the D seems to be the key to fix a problem. And once the D is driving the narrative the R is often just geared towards researching random solutions, but not towards research that attempts to examine a problem. This webinar therefore will focus on how to Do Research [not Development].
This webinar provides an introduction on how to Do Research [not Development] and so to get your research focused.
Participants will learn how Research and Development are different and why Research without Development can earn you a doctoral degree, but not vice versa. This webinar will also show the difference on Doing Research so to examine problems, and Doing Research related to Development and targeted at potential solutions.
By the end of the webinar participants should be in the position to clearly understand the role of problem focused research within an R&D context.
